what we believe
A more complete statement of our beliefs may be found in the Westminster Confession of Faith.
Trinity Church believes…
BIBLE - is the inspired, infallible, and inerrant written Word of God. The Bible is profitable for teaching, reproof, correction and training up in righteousness. Being God’s Word to us, it is our only rule for faith and practice.
GOD - That there is one God who exists eternally in three persons (Trinity): the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, same in substance, equal in power and glory.
CREATION - That in the beginning God created the world and everything in it out of nothing in the span of six days, and by His sovereign power and providence He continues to sustain and order His creation to fulfill His divine purposes and manifest His glory.
MAN - In the sinfulness of all men and women, resulting in our inability to seek out or please God by any of our own good works or efforts.
JESUS CHRIST - is the Son of God, the second person of the Trinity, and being fully God and fully man, He died an atoning sacrificial death for the forgiveness of sins. We believe that there is no salvation for anyone apart from faith in Him (receiving Jesus as Lord and Savior – trusting solely in Him that He willingly died in your place for the penalty of your sins).
RESURRECTION - We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead and all those who have received Christ by faith shall be raised up to everlasting life and those apart from Christ to everlasting judgment.
HOLY SPIRIT - In the person and work of God the Holy Spirit, the third member of the Trinity, in drawing people to Christ, convicting them of their sin and need for the Savior, enabling them to believe on Him, and strengthening them to live godly lives.
CHURCH - The church as a fellowship of born again persons, committed to helping one another grow in their Christian lives. We are called to love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our strength and with all our mind, and to love our neighbors as ourselves.
GREAT COMMISSION - Christ’s command is to go into all the world, making disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe all that Christ has commanded.
